The O'Hara Family Scholarship - 2025

God has provided our family with so many gifts…our faith, people who care for us and who we care for, and talents that we can use to help other people.  You have gifts, too. We invite you to reflect on your gifts as you apply for this scholarship.  We look forward to potentially contributing to your continued education so that you can more fully use your gifts to serve others.  

This scholarship is open to any Collinsville High School senior who will be attending a two-year or four-year institution (trade/vocational school or college/university).  Recipients of this scholarship will receive between $2,000-$5,000 in scholarship support over two years if they maintain full time enrollment and a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA.

Deadline:  March 15, 2025

Please submit two items:

  1. Resume specifying:some text
    • Academic performance (must include GPA, rank, and SAT score). The inclusion of your unofficial transcript consisting of these items is preferred.
    • Extracurricular activities at CHS (examples include clubs, leadership positions/experiences, sports, etc.)
    • Involvement in the community outside of CHS (examples include church, work, scouts, etc.)
    • The two-year or four-year institution you plan to attend, your field of study, and your plans after the completion of your degree or certification.
  2. Essay:

Reflect on the gifts in your life.  Type a 250-500 word essay answering these questions:  

  • Who in your life cares about you and how do they show that care?
  • Who do you most care about and how do you show that care?
  • What are you good at and how do you plan to use these talents to serve other people?
